Dragica “Carol” Glasić

Dragica Glasić was born in Ciglenica, Garešnica, Croatia on January 19th, 1932 to Ivan Glasić (b. Ciglenica) and Marija Pernar (b. Ciglenica). Dragica was the youngest of Ivan and Marija's 3 children, and their sole daughter. Dragica was married and divorced twice: her first husband Mato Krstičević (b. Borovci) whom she met and married in Ciglenica, Croatia. Dragica and Mato had 2 children, son Branko and daughter Maria. After her divorce to Mato was finalized, Dragica met and married Alojz Hribschek (b. Slovenia) whom she had one child, son Stanislav Hribschek. Dragica and Alojz moved to Germany in the 1950's. In 1958 Dragica, Alojz and children Branko, Maria and Stanislav departed for Italy. From there they sailed to Australia. The family were processed through Bonegilla's Migration Reception and Training Center. All would eventually became Australian citizens. Dragica worked as a court keeper in Sydney, Australia. Once all her children were grown, Dragica divided her time between Sydney, Australia and Zagreb, Croatia. Dragica loved to travel and spend time with friends. Many stamps decorated her passports. After battling cancer, Dragica passed away in Zagreb, Croatia. Her body was cremated, and her remains were laid to rest in the Glasić family grave in Ciglenica, Croatia. Funeral services were organized by Dragica's daughter Maria who travelled from Australia with her husband to care for her mother during her last days. Dragica was survived by her three children, Branko, Maria and Stanislav, their spouses, numerous grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. May she rest in eternal peace. Neka pociva u vjecnom miru.
