He was a Romanian priest, theologian, university professor , dogmatics specialist, translator, writer and journalist. He is considered one of the prominent authorities of European theology in the twentieth century and the greatest Romanian theologian of that century. He worked for 45 years translating the work Filocalia of the Holy Needs of Consummation (in twelve volumes). Full member of the Romanian Academy ( 1991 ).
