13288 Private Edward James Brennan, Died of Bronchial Pneumonia on the 26th.August 1917, Aged 44, while serving with the 7th.Battalion, The Royal Berkshire Regimen attached to 12th. Corps., Headquarters. Husband of Annie Grace Brennan (b.17-4-1873) and father to Florence Jane (b.16-1-1903), Bertha Grace (b.3-4-1904), Maud Helena (5-9-1906), Thomas James (b.6-6-1911) and Jane Elizabeth (b.9-9-1912). Annie and the five children were entitled to an Army Pension, the children until they were 16 years old. Edward & Annie also had three other children, Annie Grace who at the time of the 1911 Census was 18, Clara Stella 14, and Mary Ann, 12. After Edward's death the family lived at 35 Southcote Road off Blackhorse Road, Walthamstow. Edward was originally buried in Janes Military Cemetery, a few miles to the north of Sarigol, exhumed and reburied in Sarigol Cemetery sometime during 1921-22.
