In memoriam
Elena Ivanova was born in Madjare village, Samokov. She was the first-born to her parents and the oldest of four children. Growing up, she was her parent's biggest support as she took care of her siblings and worked. She spent the biggest part of her life working in a printing company where she organized pages, put together books and book jackets, and sew books by hand. Her passion was gardening, she grew fruits and vegetables on her property in Rila mountain. She also loved animals, she had a pet cat and a goat. Very skilled in knitting and crocheting, she created sweaters, blankets, and scarves for her loved ones. She was a very religious person and carried God in her heart in her entire life. She lived through the devastation of the WWI and raised a proud daughter who loved her unconditionally. She had the gift of coffee reading and enjoyed helping people who came to her seeking guidance. She had many friends and she traveled the world as a hobby. Some of the places she visited include Greece, Turkey, Jerusalem, Italy, Austria, and Malta. She left behind a daughter, two grandchildren and two great granddaughters. Her strong spirit still lives on among her successors.
