The VDK say "Ernst Flenner has not yet been transferred to a military cemetery set up by the Volksbund. According to the information we have, his grave is currently still in the following location: Botevgrad / Bulgaria. The Volksbund strives to find the graves of German soldiers on the basis of war graves agreements and to give them permanent, secure resting places. We hope to be able to find Ernst Flenner's grave in the not too distant future and to be able to transfer the remains to a military cemetery".
