Fehim ef. Spaho - Bosniak theologian, scientist, writer and translator, the sixth in order of reis-ul-ulema in the period of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and the Independent State of Croatia. He is the brother of the leader of the Yugoslav Muslim Organization, Mehmed Spaho. In the elections for the Vakuf Assembly in Sarajevo in 1937, he was elected as a member, and then as a member of the narrow council of reisu-l-ulema and as a member of the Electoral Body for the election of reisu-l-ulema. At the session of the Electoral Body on April 20, 1938, he was chosen among three candidates for reisu-l-ulema, along with Ahmed ef. Burek, muderisa of Gazi Husrev-bey's madrasa and Muhamed ef. Tufu, professor of the Higher Islamic Sharia School. Based on this proposal, by decree of April 26, 1938, the royal governors appointed Fehim ef. Spaho for reis-l-ulema of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. He received the duty on May 6 from the first naib Salih ef. Bašić, and the ceremonial enthronement and handing over of the mensura took place on June 9, 1938 in the Emperor's Mosque in Sarajevo. During Spaha's mandate, the Second World War broke out, in which Muslims and IZ found themselves in a difficult situation. Fehim ef. Spaho has been engaged in literary and translation work since his early youth. In addition to many Beitristic translations, Fehim ef. Spaho wrote a large number of articles on the cultural history of Bosnian Muslims. The study "Pan-Islamic Ideas" was published in "Behar" in 22 issues in 1906 and 1907. In the calendar "Narodne Uzdanice" in 1933, he published an excellent analytical article "Fifty Years of Waqf Administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina" and in the same edition in 1934, the article "Shari'a Judge School". In 1937, he published "Our Religious and Educational Autonomy", and in 1939, he published a very notable article, "Interpretation of Sharia-legal issues in our country". In the second year of "Behar" he made a study "Something about such and such", and in "Novi Behar" year VIII, 1934/35. published two articles on a similar topic, "Towards a solution to our calendar question", "More about the calendar question". The theological and sociological articles and studies include "Post", "Lejle and Kadar" published in the first edition of "Behar" and "Mixed marriages" in Glasnik IZ no. 1 in 1938. He was the editor of "Glasnik" of IZ (IV year) no. 7-9 in 1936. In the double issue of "Novi Behar" in IV 1930/31. dedicated to Gazi Husrev-beg on the 400th anniversary of his mosque in Sarajevo, in the article "Gazi Husrev-beg's library", he presented the most valuable manuscripts and the first Turkish printed books owned by this very valuable library. He also cataloged Turkish, Arabic and Persian book manuscripts that were in the Balkan Institute in Sarajevo. He processed over 1500 theological, historical, poetic and other manuscripts and completely prepared them for printing. Many of his articles, studies and notes were printed in "Behar" from 1900 to 1910, then in "Novi Behar" from 1927 to 1938, the newspaper "Pravdi" from 1919 to 1928, "Nadi" and other papers, calendars and magazines, either with a full signature, or the initials F. S. or h. He died during World War II on February 13, 1942 in He was buried in the harem of Bey's mosque, on the left side, in the immediate vicinity of the great wakif and hajir sahibi of Gazi Husrev Bey.
