Born in Spodnje Loke (Slovenia), died in Pulkau (Austria). He was a writer. Because his novel "Gospodin Franjo" (Master Francis, 1915) contained Yugoslav political elements, he was court martialled by Austria-Hungary and convicted of treason, his works were seized, and he was stripped of his rank. He was improsoned as politically suspect in Ober-Hollabrunn in 1916 and then transferred to Pulkau, near the Moravian border, where he died. His body was returned to Slovenia on 21 June 1922.
