Frančiška Usnik Rupar

In memoriam

Daughter of Janez Usnik and Marija Usnik. Born in Krvava Peč and lived in Lešnjake. From the Rihtar farm. Died at Zala, buried in the Zala Gorge. A Partisan unit arrived in Lešnjake on June 1st, 1942, searching for Frančiška's son Ludvik and her husband Jožef, who were members of the anti-communist resistance but not home at the time. The Partisans abducted Frančiška and took all the food in the house as well as various other items. She was murdered in the Zala Gorge the same day, and her grave was discovered there many years after the war.
