Private Frederick William Davidson was the eldest son of Frederick Davidson & Emily Davidson (nee Sykes). He had three sisters; Florence Edith b. 1881, Agnes Emily b. 1883, and Georgina b. 1888, and three brothers; Edward James b. 1892, John Charles b. 1894, and Ada Felton b.1898. He married Mary J. Millman in 1914 in Toxeth Park, Liverpool. "Pte. F. W. DAVIDSON, Manchester Regiment, killed, worked for Messrs. Wilson and Sons, Manchester. Another brother was killed last year." ~ Manchester Evening News, 12 September 1917, Wednesday, Page 2. The brother killed on 29 Feb. 1916 was Pte John Charles Davidson, service no: 17/8512 Regiment/Service: Manchester Regiment, 17th Bn.
