George Pappas, a Greek dramatic actor. George Pappas was born in Athens in 1903. Was the son of Spyridon Pappas journalist and poet Theoni Drakopoulou, which became known by the nickname "Mirtiotissa". He studied in Switzerland where he received a diploma of Agricultural and returning to Greece was appointed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he followed a diplomatic career, which, however, abandoned when appeared in the theatrical scene in 1931 with the troupe Mitsou Mirat project "Circle" of Somerset Mom and later as synthiasarchis with troupes of Cybele, the Kotopouli etc. George Pappas served then a member of the troupe and protagonist of the Royal Theatre of Athens always playing lead roles. But he, during the occupation, he was impresario with Vaso Manolidou, Veaki and Dendrami. After the war he worked with Catherine and the troupe Lambeti - Horn, and undertook and professor of acting at the Drama School of the Royal Theatre. Great success was in the works "Crime and Punishment", "Don Juan", "Caesar and Cleopatra," "Saint Joan," "The Annunciation" etc. George Pappas was awarded the bronze medal of the Legion of Honour for his contribution to French theater. Translated many plays several of which he directed. He died on 3 May 1958.
