Driver CAMPBELL, GEORGE WILLIAM Service Number 120719 Died 30/12/1918 Aged 24 65th Small Arms Ammunition Col. Royal Field Artillery Died of pneumonia 30 Dec 1918 aged 24. Son of George Archibald Campbell, Manager of the Yarm Branch of the Coop and Chairman of the Parish Council, and his wife Mary Ann, both of Riversdale, Bridge St, Yarm. Mr Adamson of the Parish Council moved a vote of sympathy and condolence be sent to Mr & Mrs Campbell and daughters on the loss of their dear son who died for his King and country and "the vote was carried in silence." He was born in late 1894 to George and Mary and in 1901 lived with his two sisters Lilian and Dorothy and servant Martha Whitehead in Lower Church Wynd. By 1911 the family had moved to Bridge Street and William was working as a servant at Red Hall farm, Castle Levington.
