Giacomo Marino Devlahovich

Giacomo Marino Devlahovich was baptized on 30 September 1864 at St. Stephen (Sv. Stjepana) Roman Catholic Church in Stari Grad on the island of Hvar in what is now Croatia. He was born there on 26 September to Yakov David (Giacomo Devlahovich) and Vica (Vincenza) Bertapelle/Bruttapelle. His uncle, Antonio Bertapelle (Anton Berry), was his Godfather. Like his father, Giacomo likely went by Yakov. While he shared his father's name, he was likely named for his maternal grandfather, Giacomo (Jakov) Bruttapelle, which was the naming custom at the time. Giacomo had a total of 5 brothers and 5 sisters. He passed away on 27 July 1866 and was buried the next day. Note: Giacomo's baptism and death records are available at Croatia's Archives in Zagreb.
