Harold Charles Richard Reeve

Harold Reeve was born in 1912 in Pahiatua, New Zealand to Montague Harold Reeve and his wife Hilda May Hawkes. Harold was a keen sportsman and played rugby football for the Bush Rugby Union. He was best known as a boxer. He was a successful amateur and turned professional in 1934. He won seven fights in a row culminating in his defeat of Ray Nicol on 14 Feb 36 at the Drill Hall, Pahiatua where he became the New Zealand Light Heavyweight Champion. He lost his title to Ern Jacobs in October 1937.
