Paybook photograph of VX5877 Private Harold Herbert Warton, 2/7th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Warton, aged 26, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 27 May 1941. He was the son of James Herbert and Ethel May Warton, of Wodonga, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 11. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in LAKE ROWAN VIC, also his name is located at panel 32 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial. Son of James Herbert and Ethel May Warton, of Wodonga, Victoria, Australia.
