BOLTON Harry. Sergeant PLY/10964, Royal Marine Light Infantry. HMS 'Egmont', Royal Navy. Died 6th October 1915. Serbian Obilich Gold Medal. Son of Harry Charles and Charlotte Le Font Bolton. Husband of Carrie Bolton of 254 Du Porte, Senglea, Malta. Interred CHELA KULA MILITARY CEMETERY, NISH. Special Memorial. Commemorated Grimsby St. James-School [Died 1916 } / Grimsby St James [Boulton} / Laceby WM He died on 6th October 1915 age 36, was buried in the grounds of the American Red Cross Hospital, Belgrade, Yugoslavia, and is commemorated on the Spec. Memorial, in the Chela Kula Military Cemetery, Nish, Yugoslavia. He was awarded the Serbian Obilitch Gold Medal for Zealous Service in Serbia, and may have been one of the 30 marines who formed part of the British Naval Mission to Serbia and was present during the Austro-German attack on Belgrade in October 1915. He was born in Laceby and was the son of Charles Conrad Bolton and his wife Charlotte of the Waterloo Inn, Laceby. Harry was the husband of Carrie who was living in Malta with him at that time.
