Harry Tattersfield was the son of Harry and Ruth Tattersfield, born in Kippax, Leeds in 1889. Harry was a plumber by trade. He married Edith Wilson 2nd August 1915 and they lived in Leeds. He enlisted as a Gunner in the Royal Field Artillery in Gildersome, near Leeds, probably in 1915, with the service number 140365.
