Bosnian theologian and alhamiad writer of Bosniak origin, a Sheikh of the Qadiri sect. He was born in Sarajevo in the early 17th century and passed away in Zvornik in 1691. Details of his life are surrounded by controversy due to the blending of facts and tradition. As a Divan poet, he primarily wrote in Turkish, though two poems remain in Bosnian. Initially educated under Sheikh Ankarevija in Sarajevo, he later pursued studies in Sofia, where he joined the Halvetian Tariqa under Sheikh Muslihudin Užičanin, earning the title of Caliph. Returning to Sarajevo, he became the sheikh of Silahdar Mustafa Paša's tekke and established his own tekke in Ajas Pasha's mansion, later destroyed in an attack. Legend attributes him to leading a Sarajevo uprising in 1682, resulting in his expulsion and relocation to Zvornik, where he married and served as an imam. Following his demise, tombs were erected in Kula Grad, a place he frequented, rebuilt in 2002. Known for his simple style, his poetry often centered on Tesawwuf themes, praising God and the Qaderi Tariqa founder, Abdulkadir Gejlani. A unit named "Sheikh Hasan Kaimija" operated during the Bosnian War, and annual cultural and religious events honoring him are held in Zvornik.
