Formerly No 37040 Durham Light Infantry. Born Llanelly Hill, Brecon, South Wales. Son of Evan and Mary Ann Jones. Enlisted Halifax. Lived Paddock, Huddersfield. Drowned at sea when the Cunard Steamship 'Ivernia' was sunk by a U- boat.in the Mediterranean on 1.1.1917 aged 18 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated MIKRA MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING, SALONICA.
