GLOUCESTERSHIRE REGIMENT PRIVATE LYNE H.A.

9878 Private Herbert Arthur Lyne was Killed in Action on the 7th.December 1916, Aged 25, while serving with the 2nd.Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment. Herbert was born in Blaina, Monmouthshire and lived & enlisted in Bristol. He originally landed in France with the 1st.Battalion on the 13th.August 1914 and was later listed as "Wounded" on the Casualty List issued by the War Office on the 23rd.November 1914. In November 1915, Herbert later transferred to the Salonika front with the 2nd.Battalion. He was the son of Isaac James and Annie Lyne, of 12, Part St., Blaina, Monmouthshire.
