Akers, of Ashhurst, near Palmerston North. He gave his previous service as being 14 years in the British Army with "Border Regiment" Embarking 16 October 1914, with Wellington Mounted Rifles, Main Body to Suez, Egypt. Herbert died of his wounds at Hospital in Lemnos, Greece. Son of John and Mary Somersett, of 13, Ashburnham Rd., Kensal Rise, London, England. Ashhurst is a town and outlying suburb of Palmerston North, in the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand's North Island, NZ.
