Luftwaffe, 6/StG 3, Hptm. und Staffelkapitän. Junkers Ju87D-3/Trop (S7+CP). Bomb exploded and crashed near Davgata, on Cephalonia Island, Greece. Holder of the Knights Cross (awarded on 24.09.1942). The VDK says "Herbert Stry rests on the war cemetery in Dionyssos-Rapendoza (Greece). During the reburial work in his original grave location, he could not be identified beyond doubt, so he was buried as an "unknown soldier" in the Dionyssos-Rapendoza cemetery".
