Casualty of WWII,Lieutenant Hugh Gore-Booth, was born 6th June 1910 and served with the 2nd Bn.Royal Irish Fusiliers, Service No: 130758. He was Mentioned in Despatches; died aged 33 on 11th November 1943. His brother also fell. He was Sub-Lieutenant Brian Gore-Booth, who served in the Royal Navy, H.M.S. Exmouth. He was 27 when killed January 21st 1940. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial. They were sons of Sir Josslyn Augustus Richard Gore-Booth, 6th Bt., and of Lady Gore-Booth (nee Malone), of Lissadell, Co. Sligo, Irish Republic; they were brothers of Sir Angus Josslyn Gore-Booth,8th Baronet.
