*He wasn't baptized. He died within a few days after his birth. His parents married in 1924 and they had four children. He was their second child. His first brother also died within a few days after his birth. There was a 3-4 years difference between him and his first brother. His third sibling, Florica Merghes (born around 1935), died of pneumonia when she was 2 years old. He had three siblings, but only the last, Teofil (born October 20, 1938), survived childhood.
