Ioan Meseşan (born Giurtelecu Şimleului, January 1936) graduated from the Pedagogical High School in Gherla; he was housed in Gherla with an acquaintance of the former priest Ioan Taloş. He served as an elementary school teacher in Valcǎu, Ilisua, Valea Taului, then in Giurtelecu Şimleului. He played accordion in the folk dance team from Giurtelecu Simleului. He was married to Sofia Mesesan and they had three children, Marius, Sorin, and Cristi.
