Ivan was beloved son of Marin and Dragica Bajuk. He was third oldest of 7 siblings, Jelica, Ante, Jurko, Katica, Slavko and Vlado. He falsified his birth certificate to enlist in the army in WW2, at 16 years of age, and died in the war. There is a War Memorial built in Vrisnik on Hvar to commemorate those who died from the village (Spomenik Vrisnik).
