Ivan Kokot was born in Oštrc, Karlovac, Croatia and raised in Rosalnice, Slovenia. His parents were Niko Kokot and Dragica Guštin. He was a farm worker and was unmarried. He died in Dvor, Slovenia and is buried in Cvibelj, Zužemberk, Slovenia. [http://www.sistory.si/zrtve/zrtev]
