Ivka Marčić Bitunjac

In memoriam

Ivka Bitunjac (maiden: Marčić), was born in Smolonje, Omiš, Croatia on January 27th, 1906. Ivka was the child of Ivan Marčić (b. Smolonje) and Lucija Dragosović (b. Smolonje). Ivka was the 5th child of her parent's 11 children. Ivka married Blaž Bitunjac (b. Ruda) on February 23rd, 1932 in Split. Blaž and Ivka had four children: Ante "Toni", Ivo, Zdravko and Katica Bitunjac. Sons Ante and Zdravko would both migrate to France before migrating to Australia. Daughter Katica migrated to Germany. On July 2nd, 1983 Ivka's husband Blaž would pass away due to stroke. Ivka spent the rest of her days living in Split where she was died of starost (old age) on May 21, 2001. Ivka was 95 years old. At the time of her passing Ivka was survived by her children Ante, Ivo, Zdravko and Katica, their respective spouses and 7 grandchildren. May she rest in eternal peace. Neka pociva u vjecnom miru.
