Ivo Sutić, the son of Peter Sutić and Kate Sevej, was born in the hamlet of Podimoc near the village of Lisac on April 18, 1826. In 1852 he moved to Dobrota in the Bay of Kotor and on February 9, 1852 he married Ana Marija Lusic, born 1832 in Sutivan on the island of Brac offshore from Split. Ivo was a shoemaker and moved to Dubrovnik in 1858 were he set up a shoe and leather shop. He developed his business and had a whole-sale leather trade throughout southern Dalmatia. Ana Marija died 27 Jan 1892 and Ivo died on May 23, 1896. Ivo and his wife, Ana Marija had 10 children: Dum (Priest) Niko 1852-1932, Karolina 1855-1891, Antun 1857-1908, Marija 1859-1861, Anna 1861-1906, Jozo 1863-1901, Peter 1866-1866, Nicholas 1867-1945, Marija 1869-1876, Vlaho (William) 1874-1949. Nicholas, Anna and Vlaho immigrated to California, USA. Death Notice translation: IVO SUTIC died this morning after a long and hard sickness after receiving the holy sacraments, at 71 years of life. Saddened, the undersigned announce their heavy loss to friends and acquaintances and inform them that the funeral will start from the local county hospital to the Church of St. Andrew tomorrow at 6 o'clock in the afternoon. Dubrovnik, 23 May 1896.
