NX13143 Posting on Death: 2/3rd Australian Infantry Battalion, he was presumed dead in Crete. NSW. Paybook photograph of NX13143 Private Jack James Woldon, 2/3rd Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Woldon, aged 26, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 20 May 1941. He was the son of John and Emily May Woldon, of Belmore, NSW. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 11. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in Campsie NSW, also his name is located at panel 30 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial. Son of John and Emily May Woldon, of Belmore, New South Wales, Australia.
