In memoriam
Born at Wilhelmstal (Vasylivka), he was a carpenter/joiner and lived at Friedenstal. Before he died he worked at the Karl Liebnicht collective farm near there. He was a private farmer before 1930. He married Elizabeth Albrecht, daughter of Christian Albrecht and Magdalene Wixler on Nov. 1, 1920 in Friedenstal. Arrested by the NKVD on Feb. 4, 1938, executed by firing squad Sept. 28, 1938 at or near Tirasapol prison. Burial unknown. Property confiscated. From a May, 2009 file obtained from the Odessa Archives, he was "rehabilitated", or eligible for same under clause 1 of the Jan. 16, 1989 Ukase of the USSR.
