Father of 11 children, 6 of whom survived. William John, Thomas Edward, Maggie, George, Elizabeth and Catherine. Enlisted at Holywell. Entered the Balkan conflict 8.8.1915. Initially wounded in left leg at Karakol Dagh, Gallipoli. Died of dysentery. ~ Husband of Annie Isabel Hayes, (nee Barker). Daughter Irene. Brother of Squire and Mary. Enlisted at Rochdale. A carter. Killed in action at Templeux-le-Gerard. Employed as a carter.
