View Memorial site here Posting on Death: 2/4th Australian Infantry Battalion NX5924. Embarked Sydney for overseas service per H.M.T M3 10th Jan 1940. Disembarked Kantara 14th Feb. 1940. Embarked for service in Greece 31st Mar. 1941 He died of wounds received in action in Crete.( penetrating wound to the head) 22nd May 1941. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in Narrandera, also his name is located at panel 30 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial. Son of Roderick John and Helen Cumming, of Narrandera, New South Wales, Australia.
