In memoriam

2nd Lieutenant James Russell Templeton, 1st Battalion the Royal Scots Fusiliers. He was the son of David Templeton and Mrs Templeton (nee Kerr|), of Canick Lodge, 24 St Winifreds Road, Bournemouth, Dorset. Educated at Blundell's School, Tiverton, Devon. Gentleman Cadet at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. Commissioned into the Royal Scots Fusiliers as a 2nd Lieutenant on 21 Dec 1917. After training with the 3rd Batalion at Camp Fort Matilda (between Greenock and Gourock), he joined the 1st Battalion in France. He was sent to join the 8th (Service) Battalion in Salonika, Greece. He was killed in action on 19 Sep 1918. He has no known grave. He is commemorated on the Doiran Memorial, Doirani, Regional unit of Kilkis, Central Macedonia, Greece.
