Paybook photograph of VX33409 Gunner James Stanilaus Gibson, 3rd Light Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery. Gunner Gibson, aged 33, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 29th May 1941. He was the son of Mr and Mrs W. Gibson, of Thornbury, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 10, also his name is located at panel 20 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
