The parish priest of Ozal, Matija Kranjčić, was murdered by the communists in 1945, upon which Strašek also became the administrator for Ozalj. Strašek was killed on the morning of Palm Sunday, March 30th, 1947 after saying mass in Ozalj en route to mass in Svetice. Three members of the local political committee ambushed him in the woods and shot him in the head with a hunting rifle. Villagers found his body in the woods the next day covered with leaves. He was buried in Svetice. Source: http://www.brezmadezna.com/md/mucenci.htm
