Jefrem "Sele" Vujcic was born on August 4, 1932 in Pozarevac, Serbia to parents Dimitrije (1903–1945) and Jelena (née Stojanovic; 1906–1974). He had a sister named Dana and a brother named Dragutin. His first name was often misspelled as Jevrem (his grandfather's name). In his youth, Vujcic was a reserve officer in the army eventually working his way up to the rank of first-class captain in the Yugoslav Air Force. He eventually moved on from the army in the 1970s. After that, Vujcic worked for the PTT Pozarevac until his retirement in 1992. Vujcic was from the area of Pozarevac known as Burjan. For a time he was active in Burjan's management and helped organize the Ljubicevo Equestrian Games. In his youth, he played soccer for the Pozarevac-based club FK Zeleznicar and he was a first-generation Partizan Belgrade supporter. His favourite song was the Serbian classic Tamo daleko. The Vujcic family Patron Saint Day is Saint Michael the Archangel. Jefrem Vujcic passed away on August 10, 1996 at 2:00 PM and was survived by his wife Nadezda (née Roksic; 1936–2015), son Prvoslav (born 1960), daughter Milena (born 1964) and by his grandchildren. He is remembered by his wisdom, warmth, humility and goodness. His Orthodox Christian funeral service was held at the Staro groblje (Old Cemetery) in Pozarevac where Jefrem Vujcic is interred in a family plot with his wife, parents and grandparents.
