Jelena "Jela" Vujcic (née Stojanovic) was born in Pozarevac, Serbia in 1906 to father Blagoje and mother Leposava "Lepa". She was married to an officer of the Royal Yugoslav Army with whom she had a daughter named Dana (who had nine children). After Jela's husband passed away due to illness, she married his friend and fellow Royal Yugoslav Army officer Dimitrije Vujcic (1903–1945) who kept his promise that he would marry her after his friend's death. She had two sons with Dimitrije: Dragutin (1930–2011) and Jefrem (1932–1996). Jelena Vujcic passed away on February 21, 1974. Her Orthodox Christian funeral service was held at the Staro groblje (Old Cemetery) in Pozarevac where she is interred in the family plot of her husband Dimitrije.
