Jenny Vanou (February 10, 1939 - February 5, 2014) was a Greek singer who was distinguished by its distinctive voice, for several decades in the light and folk music. Her real name was Eugenia hoarse. He began his career in 1959 as vocalist light conductor, the radio station ERT. He sang the first time in public in 1964, where the song Plessas "Now" took the first prize at the Thessaloniki Light Music Festival. Soon he established as a singer of light songs and performed duets mostly with John Vogiatzi. In the late 60s dominated the popular music and in 1972 he meets Tolis Voskopoulos, who closed the contract to Columbia where he met great success singing folk. He was a key performer and "muse" of many composers. Interpreted songs of Mimis Plessas, Mikis Theodorakis, George Mouzaki Kostas Giannidis, Jacques Iakovidis, the Attik, Alekos Hrisovergi Takis Mousafiri etc. For her work was awarded in Spain, Poland and the former Soviet Union. The last years of her life was far from the albums. In August 2013 he did surgery on the neck to deprive a tumor. In early 2014 again faced serious health problems due to metastases of karkinou.Stis February 5, 2014 left his last breath in Metaxa hospital in Piraeus, where hospitalized.
