Luftwaffe, 2(H)/31, Wachtmeister und Beobacter (Heer). Born at Josefsdorf, Kettowitz (Katowice), Poland. Originally buried with Johann Pichler as 2 Unknown Soldat at the Ehrenfriedhof at Kragujevac. Then moved on 10.06.1942 to the Ehrenfriedhof at Mladenovac. The VDK say "Joachim Ricklin has not yet been transferred to a military cemetery set up by the Volksbund. According to the information available to us, his grave is still in the following location: Kragujevac - Serbia. The Volksbund is trying to find the graves of the German soldiers on the basis of war graves agreements and to give them secure permanent resting places. We hope to be able to find Joachim Ricklin's grave in the not too distant future and to be able to transfer the bones to a military cemetery".
