Casualty of WWII, John was on the General List. He was 36 and the son of Herbert Stringfellow Pendlebury and Lilian Dorothea Pendlebury; husband of Hilda Winifred Pendlebury, of Cambridge. He was an Archaeologist and graduated M.A. (Cantab). He is commemorated as killed in action on the reverse of the church signboard at Trumpington, Cambridgeshire.
