John Doukas

Sebastokrator John Doukas was the eldest son of Constantine Angelos and Theodora Komnene, the seventh child of the Byzantine Emperor Alexios I Komnenos and Irene Doukaina. He served as a military commander under Manuel I Komnenos and Isaac II Angelos. John Doukas married Zoe Doukaina, the daughter of Constantine Doukas and Anna Doukaina in c.1170. He may have had a wife before Zoe but there are no records. John and Zoe had five legitimate sons (the first two may have been the result of his first marriage). He also had three unnamed daughters. Their children included : Isaac Angelos (c. 1155–1203), m.
