Private Freckelton, aged 34, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 21 May 1941. He was the son of Robert English Freckelton and Anne Freckelton, and the husband of Hazel Olive Freckelton, of Randwick, NSW. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 12. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in Sydney NSW, also his name is located at panel 89 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial .
