138553 Gunner John William Joseph Malamphy, Died on the 28th.September 1918, Aged 41, while serving with the 22nd.Battery, 130th.Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. John was born in Church and had re-enlisted at Rochdale. John had previously served in the South African Campaign as 4686 in the 1st.Battalion, Loyal North Lancs Regiment from 14-11-1894 to 13-11-1906. On the 14th.November 1917, John was sentenced to 2 years hard labour which was remitted to 1 year on the 13th.December 1917. Son of Michael and Winifred Malamphy and the husband of Mary Ellen Malamphy, of 22, Hume St., Rochdale.
