John(Giannis) Dalianidis

In memoriam

John Dalianidis was a Greek film director and screenwriter, one of the most commercial of the Greek cinema. Born in Thessaloniki on December 31, 1923 and raised by adoptive parents. She began her career as a dancer and choreographer using the stage name "John Dahl". From 1958 he began writing scripts for films. His first screenplay was for the film "crazy girl". On the directorial career began in 1959 with the movie "The jade" and followed the same year the film "People and Kolonaki." In 1961 he began his collaboration with Finos Films with the movie "downhill." The film was a great success and career Dalianidis soared. Follow the creation of a series of films, mostly Musicals, a genre in which he greatly distinguished himself. Overall he has directed more than 60 films, most of which he has written the script himself. From 1970 he worked in television, creating several television series, more than which enjoyed great success. He died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at age 87
