Joseph Vladimirovich Semyonov (Russian: Иосиф Владимирович Семёнов; 3 August [O.S. 22 July] 1870 – 19 January 1942), was a Russian major general, commander of the Life Guards of the 3rd Infantry Regiment, and participant in the White movement.

Biography Semyonov was born on 3 August [O.S. 22 July] 1870. Semyonov's younger brother, Valerian (1875–1928) is also an officer and Knight of St. George. Semyonov graduated from the 1st Cadet Corps in 1887 and the 1st Pavlovsk Military School in 1889, from where he was released as a second lieutenant in the 2nd Rifle Regiment. Later he was transferred to the Life Guards Reserve Infantry Regiment. He was promoted to lieutenant on 30 August 1893, and to staff captain on 22 July 1900. In 1900 he graduated from the Nikolaev General Staff Academy, 2nd category, and continued to serve in the guard. Promoted to captain on 6 December 1905. On 5 May 1910, the 4th Infantry Battalion of the Imperial Family was transferred to the Life Guards, and deployed to a regiment the same year. He was promoted to colonel on 6 December 1910. He joined the ranks of the Imperial Family riflemen during World War I. On 27 March 1915, he was appointed commander of the 134th Feodosia Infantry Regiment.
