Physician. He received notoriety founder of the Vakuf Hospital in Sarajevo and establishing organized health care in the city. He studied in Bern, Vienna and Paris. After completion of medical school, he went to Turkey, where he was a Turkish military physician during the Crimean War. When the war ended in 1855, he came to Bosnia, where at one time was a Turkish military physician and as a personal doctor of Topal Sherif Osman PashaSherif, the Ottoman governor of Bosnia. Accompanied by Omer Pasha Latas returned to Turkey, and after death of Omer Pasha in 1871, he conflict with the military powers in Istanbul, thus returned to Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the city of Mostar, where at one time was the city doctor. He left Mostar after several years, and in 1875 he worked in Sarajevo as the city physician.
