In memoriam

From Zvornik, Bosnia. Led an uprising of the 17th infantry regiment in Judenburg, Austria on 12 May 1918 together with Anton Hafner , Alojzij Rogelj , Alojz Štefančič , and Karel Možina . Twenty rebels were killed and 120 wounded, and the leaders of the rebellion were executed. Their remains were reburied in Ljubljana in 1923, and in 1939 they were interred in an ossuary designed by Edo Ravnikar. The ossuary also contains the remains of 15 officers, 4,701 Austro-Hungarian soldiers, 342 Russian prisoners of war, 80 Romanian prisoners of war, and 79 Serbian prisoners of war.
