Jože Kralj was born May 17th, 1922 in Srednje Jarše, Mengeš. He graduated from the classical high school in Ljubljana and was a member of the Catholic Action student group. He graduated on June 28th, 1941 and decided to pursue the priesthood in the Vincentian order. He enrolled in the Ljubljana seminary in 1942. In 1944 he was drafted into the Home Guard, where he served as a medic. In May 1945 he retreated with the Home Guard troops to Austrian Carinthia, but was forcibly repatriated to Yugoslavia and murdered at an unknown location.
