Khristo Stefanov Kabakchiev, Христо Стефанов Кабакчиев Bulgarian communist politician, revolutionary, journalist and historian. Kabakchiev was briefly arrested in 1937 during the Great Purge, but was released the following year. After falling gravely ill, he died in Moscow in 1940.
