Konstantinos Stamkos (Κωνσταντίνος Στάμκος) was a Doctor and Mayor of Giannitsa between 1951-1954. Son of Petros and Theano and borther of Thomas was raised in a wealthy -with the standards of his era- family and he accomplished his medical studies in the Medical University of Athens. For his work and accomplishments when he was a Mayor of Giannitsa, for his character and the overall social work as a Doctor, one road in the centre of Giannitsa was named after him in 1983. Konstantinos Stamkos died from cardiovascular problems at Andreadis Clinic in Thessaloniki the evening hours of Sunday October 16th 1966. In 2007, a leaflet for his life and work was written by Mr.Manoudis A. and published by 'Philippos' the Historical and Folklore Company of Giannitsa.
